Solesta® is a one-of-a-kind product for the treatment for fecal (bowel) incontinence, a condition afflicting numerous people. The loss of bowel control can be a debilitating life-limiting health problem that can cause severe patient embarrassment and even social withdrawal.
Solesta has been developed to address the large treatment gap that exists between conservative therapies for bowel incontinence such as dietary control and more involved, invasive treatments such as surgery. It is a tissue biocompatible bulking agent consisting of an injectable gel that can be administered as a minimally invasive treatment for bowel incontinence in an outpatient setting and without the need for anesthesia.
